How-to guide · About 4 minutes
Log your first workout
Record what you actually do, rest between sets, and finish with a useful history you can return to later.
Start a workout
On Home, choose a scheduled, unscheduled, or HIIT workout. If a strength workout is already in progress, choose Resume.
-
Log each set
Tap a planned set to open Log Set. Enter the reps, weight, time, or distance you completed, then choose Log Set. To record the planned values without changes, use the set’s quick-log control.
-
Choose the set type
Open Log Set and choose Set type. You can also long-press a set to change its type quickly.
- Working set: Your normal training work. This is the default.
- Warmup: A lighter or easier set that prepares you for working sets. It is saved, but does not count toward volume or personal bests.
- Drop set: You reduced the weight after a hard effort and continued with little or no rest.
- Failure set: You continued until another full rep with good form was not possible.
-
Add optional set details
Add a note while logging or editing the set, or long-press the set and choose Add Note. If RPE is enabled in Settings, record how hard the set felt.
-
Use the rest timer
After a completed set, Belay starts the rest timer when it is enabled. Add or subtract 15 seconds, or choose Skip. An exercise can use its own rest time instead of the default from Settings.
-
Fix a logged set
Open the set menu to edit it or choose Undo Set. Undo removes its logged values and marks it incomplete.
-
Finish the workout
Choose Finish or Complete Workout. Belay warns you about unlogged sets before saving the session. Add a workout note on the summary if you want to remember how the day felt.
